Lianyungang has a sea area of 7516 square kilometers and a coastline of 211.59 kilometers. There are 20 islands with a total area of 6.94 square kilometers. Haizhou Bay fishing ground is one of the eight largest fishing grounds in China. Huaibei salt farm is one of the four biggest sea salt production areas in China. The city is also home to the largest seaweed breeding and processing base, crab breeding base and shrimp breeding base in China. Qiansan Islands sea area is the only sea treasure base in Jiangsu province.
