A total of 49 kinds of minerals have been discovered in the city, including 33 kinds of non-metallic minerals,11 kinds of metal minerals, and five kinds of energy, water and gas minerals. The mineral reserves of serpentine,phosphorus, marble, garnet ruby and eclogite rank first in Jiangsu province, and its crystal and geothermal resources are well-known throughout the country. Donghai county is the largest silicon industry base in China and the well-known World Capital of Crystal.
