The local river network is dense. There are 82 provincial-level backbone rivers, among which 15 rivers, such as Guanhe River and Dragon King River, directly run into the sea. The city holds a water capacity of 4.137 billion cubic meters, including 166 large, medium and small reservoirs, of which Shilianghe Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Jiangsu with a total volume of526 million cubic meters.
