Lianyungang will implement "four categories" of waste by the end of 2020

On　December　28,　the　author　learned　from　the　press　conference　on　the　classification　and　treatment　of　urban　and　rural　domestic　waste　in　Lianyungang　that　in　2019,　the　harmless　treatment　rate　of　urban　and　rural　domestic　waste　reached　100%,　and　that　of　kitchen　waste　reached　90%.　By　the　end　of　2020,　counties　and　districts　with　good　conditions　will　be　encouraged　to　build　new　organic　perishable　waste　treatment　facilities　and　take　the　lead　in　"four　classifications"　of　waste.

In　order　to　guide　urban　residents　to　consciously　carry　out　the　classification　of　domestic　waste,　Lianyungang,　on　the　basis　of　developing　the　classification　of　domestic　waste　in　the　community,　focuses　on　promoting　the　construction　of　domestic　waste　classification　demonstration　area,　configures　the　residents'　domestic　waste　classification　collection　containers　with　signs　easy　to　understand,　appropriate　specifications　and　beautiful　designs,　sets　up　the　guide　signs　of　domestic　waste　classification,　and　gradually　adopts　the　combination　of　incentives　and　constraints　to　gradually　fulfill　the　accurate　distribution　of　domestic　waste　classification.　Up　to　now,　there　are　535　new　garbage　classification　communities,　1100　mandatory　classification　units,　20000　new　garbage　classification　facilities　in　public　areas　and　more　than　70%　garbage　classification　facilities　in　6　streets.

At　present,　Lianyungang　city　implements　the　"short-term　great　divergence　and　long-term　fine　classification"　garbage　classification　policy　of　Jiangsu　Province.　By　the　end　of　2020,　the　city　will　still　carry　out　garbage　classification　based　on　"three　classifications",　i.e.　"recyclable　materials,　hazardous　wastes　and　other　wastes",　encourage　counties　and　districts　with　good　conditions　to　build　new　organic　perishable　garbage　treatment　facilities　and　take　the　lead　in　"four　classifications"　of　garbage.

In　order　to　reduce　waste　production,　a　most　direct　challenge　to　garbage　classification,　it　was　required　to　limit　the　excessive　packaging　of　goods,　reduce　the　production　of　waste　in　the　whole　life　cycle　of　product　production,　circulation　and　use,　promote　the　introduction　of　clean　vegetables　and　agricultural　and　sideline　products　into　the　city,　effectively　reduce　the　production　of　household　kitchen　waste,　increase　the　implementation　of　"plastic　restriction　order"　and　promote　the　use　of　vegetable　baskets　or　cloth　bags　in　Lianyungang　when　formulating　the　implementation　plan　of　waste　classification　work　in　2017.　Limit　the　use　of　disposable　products　in　hotels,　catering　and　other　service　industries,　advocate　the　conservation　of　civilized　dining　in　the　catering　service　industry　and　reduce　the　amount　of　kitchen　waste.
