High-Speed Rail Station Welcomes “AI New Colleagues”

Hearing that the “Digital AI Traffic Law Enforcement Post” at Lianyungang High-Speed Rail Station had recently begun trial use, we followed staff from the Municipal Transport Law Enforcement Brigade to see it in person and learn about the convenience it brings to passengers.
Entering the exit area, a smart device “resembling” a real person stands quietly. The moment the screen lights up, a virtual figure in uniform shows a friendly smile. It is understood that the “Digital AI Traffic Law Enforcement Post” has been in trial operation for over half a month, and the virtual character’s image is based on real law enforcement officers from the brigade. The design team used high-precision modeling to recreate the facial expressions and body movements of the real person, making the interaction more user-friendly.
The device interface closely addresses the practical needs of passengers, clearly divided into six core functional areas: “Navigation Inquiry”, “Frequently Asked Questions”, “Bus Information”, “Station Navigation”, “Transport Dynamics”, and “Complaints and Reports”, achieving precise service matching. The author clicked on the “Station Navigation” section, where locations like restrooms, parking lots, ride-hailing vehicle pickup areas, and public electric vehicle stations were clearly listed – all key concerns for traveling passengers, making the key point navigation feature very useful. After selecting “Ride-hailing Vehicle Pickup Area”, the screen immediately generated walking instructions, displaying distance and estimated time, using blue and green blocks to distinguish above-ground and underground areas, making it clear and easy to understand.
Subsequently, we tried searching for the “Lianyungang City Museum” in the “Scenic Spot Services” within the “Navigation Inquiry” section. Five detailed route maps, along with time, distance, and step count information, were instantly displayed, providing detailed and intuitive information. “Since the trial operation began, it has been particularly popular among elderly passengers,” introduced Officer Lu from the Municipal Transport Law Enforcement Brigade.
Remarkably, the “Digital AI Traffic Law Enforcement Post” possesses a learning “AI brain”. The system can automatically record each passenger inquiry into its database. For high-frequency questions like “bus route inquiry” and “station navigation”, its response speed has been optimized to seconds; when facing new questions, it can also quickly update its knowledge base through system learning, truly becoming smarter with use.
It is reported that the device will subsequently undergo appearance customization with prominent identifiers and is planned to be connected to the high-speed rail alliance information platform composed of nearly 30 units including public security, urban management, and transport. In the future, passengers might even be able to directly conduct cross-departmental lost property inquiries through it.
From automatically starting up at 6:00 in the morning to shutting down after the last train of the night departs, this “AI colleague” will use the power of technology to provide smarter and more convenient travel services for passengers coming from north and south.
