In the first half of the year, Lianyungang’s e-commerce sector delivered an impressive performance: the city’s total online sales exceeded 80 billion yuan, marking a 14.6% year-on-year growth. Against the backdrop of accelerating iteration of digital technologies and continuously upgrading consumer demand, the city has taken AI-powered e-commerce as a breakthrough to accelerate the transformation of traditional e-commerce toward intelligent and digital development.
Full-linkage promotion drives sustained release of consumption vitality. In the first half of the year, Lianyungang closely targeted key consumption nodes including New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and the “618” Shopping Festival, rolling out over 10 million yuan in consumption subsidies in partnership with platforms like Taobao Flash Purchase and Meituan. All counties and districts made coordinated efforts: Guanyun hosted the “Guanshan Yunhai ? Apparel Links the World” themed Apparel E-commerce Festival, while Ganyu invited top influencers to host exclusive live streams for its Seafood Cuisine Carnival, fully igniting the online-offline consumption boom. In May, the Lianyungang AI E-commerce Development Conference & the 7th 518 Online Shopping Season was successfully held, featuring five innovative core sections: AI-powered E-commerce, Interactive Experience, Lianyungang Local Products, Lianyungang Local Cuisine, and Integrated Consumption, which became the highlight of Lianyungang’s e-commerce sector in the first half of the year.
Accelerated industrial agglomeration deepens cross-regional cooperation. As a core carrier for Lianyungang’s e-commerce development, the Belt and Road Digital Trade Park delivered a remarkable investment promotion performance in H1, with 13 new enterprises and merchants signing settlement agreements. The “Haizhou Selection” online mall recorded a total turnover of about 310,000 yuan, launching over 1,000 new products. Cross-regional cooperation also made new progress: the city joined hands with SHEIN to host exclusive matchmaking events for the wearable nail art and themed apparel industrial belts, and cooperated with Yiwu IP Association to hold the “IP Revitalization?Win-win Industrial Development” Empowerment Matchmaking Conference. In terms of infrastructure construction, the Chongqing Front Warehouse for Ganyu Seafood introduced more than 30 supply chain enterprises, generating a transaction volume of about 50 million yuan, while the Urumqi Front Warehouse was officially put into operation.
AI integrated into live streams makes product selection process transparent. As AI technology is deeply embedded in the product selection process, functions including intelligent price comparison, quality screening and demand forecasting are helping more live stream rooms establish standardized product selection systems. In the training classroom of Tianma Science and Technology Park, the instructor led trainees to conduct AI practical demonstrations focusing on local seafood products: multiple sets of marketing copies were generated within dozens of seconds, followed by an automatically edited short video. “We never dared to imagine that seafood e-commerce operators could use such smart tools,” the instructor remarked.
Talent cultivation gains momentum, AI training becomes annual highlight. Industrial transformation prioritizes talent development. Since the launch of the “Stars Light up Mountains and Seas” live-stream e-commerce training program, 80 training sessions of various types have been held across Lianyungang as of July 19, covering 17,115 trainees online and offline. Among them, 25 sessions of special “AI + E-commerce” training have been completed, covering 9,533 trainees — accounting for over half of the total, making it the biggest highlight of this year’s training work. Going forward, Lianyungang Municipal Bureau of Commerce will continue to implement the “Stars Light up Mountains and Seas” program, planning to host over 200 training sessions throughout the year, covering more than 20,000 trainees online and offline.
Behind the impressive results of 80 billion yuan in total online sales and 14.6% year-on-year growth, featured industrial belts are expanding, AI technology is accelerating its penetration into product selection, live streaming, marketing and other links, and e-commerce talents cultivated through the “Stars Light up Mountains and Seas” program are continuously growing. From intelligent product selection to digital human live streaming, from the agglomeration of new business forms in industrial parks to cross-regional industrial cooperation, Lianyungang’s e-commerce sector is accelerating its transformation along the path of “AI Connects All Things, E-commerce Crosses Mountains and Seas”.
