Phase II Project of 300,000 DWT Channel at Lianyungang Port Listed as "Primary Construction"

Recently, the Provincial Department of Transportation held a forum on the pilot work of the province's transportation power construction and deployed the pilot work in 2021. At the meeting, 11 pilot tasks, 43 pilot contents and 92 pilot key points were determined. It was pointed out that a number of world-class major projects should be built first, among which "New progress has been made in landmark projects such as Phase II Project of a 300000 DWT Channel at Lianyungang Port” was included. It is reported that this year, our city will continue to promote the construction of Xuwei waterway with a 300000 ton level with an investment of 1 billion yuan.

The 300,000 DWT Channel of Lianyungang Port is the highest grade artificial deep-water channel constructed in the open coastal muddy shoal in China and even in the world. It is the "bull nose" project developed along the coast of Jiangsu Province, and it’s also the lifeline project of Lianyungang Port's development. Last year, the first phase of the 300,000 DWT Channel Project was open to navigation. The Phase II Project, is the leading project of Jiangsu’s “one belt, one road construction” and coastal development. It will be deepened, widened and extended on the basis of the first stage of the project's waterway axis. It includes a 300,000 ton channel of Lianyungang, a 300,000 ton channel of Xuwei Port, a supporting dike and an anchorage project. The dredging constructions are about 200 million, and dredging section is about 70.5 kilometers long. A 9.6 km dike is built with a total investment of 7.749 billion yuan.
