Lianyungang hosts Sino-Korean International Volunteer Service Exchange activities

A few days ago, the Sino-Korean International VolunteerService Exchange and Public Welfare Activity jointly organized by theDisability Assistance Guidance Center of Municipal Disabled People'sFederation, Deaf People's Association, the Municipal Red Flag Volunteer CareHome and the Korean Volunteer Group was successfully held in our city.Twenty-four college student volunteers from Korean universities and volunteersfrom our city took part in the one-week volunteer service.

During the event, volunteers from Chinaand South Korea went to Xindong Police Station in Haizhou District and BoaiRehabilitation Center in Lianyun District to send summer-heat relieving materialsto the first-line policemen and environmental sanitation workers on duty at thepolice station. They also interacted with special children in BoaiRehabilitation Center to learn handicraft making, dumpling making and carried onthe indoor decoration of the ecological environment for the center. On the lastday of the volunteer service, the Chinese and Korean volunteers also had aninteractive exchange with the deaf people of the Municipal Disabled People’s Federation.

Liu Aidong, thedirector of the activity, said that in the future, our city will continue topromote the normalization and immobilization of volunteer service betweenLianyungang and South Korea, and strengthen exchanges and interaction withother countries, so that Lianyungang culture will be understood by morecountries.
