Yesterday, it was learned from the Lianyungang Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau that the “Building Beautiful Bays, Safeguarding Our Blue Home” 2025 Marine Conservation Beach Cleanup Activity and the “Beautiful Jiangsu—Blue Journey Across Rivers, Lakes, and Seas” Marine Campaign, jointly organized by the All-China Environment Federation, the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, and other units, was successfully held in the city. Centered on a three-pronged approach of “publicity and education + practical action + long-term governance”, this event responded to national marine ecological protection policies and aimed to enhance public awareness of marine environmental conservation, injecting new momentum into the construction of a maritime power.
At the venue, relevant officials elaborated on the concrete practices of Jiangsu’s Beautiful Bay Initiative and unveiled the ecological chain reactions caused by marine litter pollution. Simultaneously, the “International Communication and Influence Initiative” for Jiangsu’s Beautiful Bays was officially launched. This initiative will organize think tank experts, international friends, mainstream media representatives, and others to conduct field research, documentary filmmaking, and academic discussions, systematically showcasing Jiangsu's innovative practices in marine ecological governance and sharing China’s wisdom in ecological civilization with the global community.
Furthermore, the event awarded certificates to 10 international student representatives in Lianyungang, appointing them as “International Communication Ambassadors for Lianyungang’s Beautiful Bays”, and honored 10 local primary schools with the title of “China Environmental Little Guardian Workstation”.
This activity serves as both a vivid demonstration of implementing marine ecological civilization construction and a crucial opportunity to unite public consensus on marine protection. Moving forward, Lianyungang will take this event as a new starting point to refine a long-term mechanism for marine protection featuring government guidance, societal collaboration, and public participation. The city will continue to carry out regular beach cleanups and advance the Beautiful Bay Initiative in light of local conditions, championing sustainable marine ecological development.
