Recently, journalists learned from Lianyungang Maritime Safety Administration that the Bureau has implemented the policy of reducing and remitting maritime fees and exempted the port construction fee for foreign import and export goods from March 1st to June 30th, 2020. The move is expected to save more than 200 million yuan in costs for obligatory payers (shippers).

On March 3rd, the executive meeting of the State Council determined measures to support the logistics industry, such as transportation express, to ease difficulties and speed up the recovery and development. In accordance with superior requirements, Lianyungang Maritime Safety Administration immediately notified the charging units under its jurisdiction to stop levying the construction fee of foreign import and export goods ports and timely handled the refund formalities for those already charged from 1 to 3 days.

According to preliminary statistics, Lianyungang MSA has exempted 115 ships from port construction fees of more than 10 million yuan since March 1st.
