Donghai Crystal Sculpture Selected as Fifth Batch of Representative Projects of National Intangible Cultural Heritage

Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China officially announced the list of recommended projects in the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects list. Donghai crystal carving was in the list.

In recent years, Donghai County has actively guided enterprises to research and develop new crystal carving products, improved product design and innovation capabilities, and expanded new ways of personnel training and development. It has successively cooperated with Suzhou Polytechnic of Arts and Crafts to establish "Donghai Crystal College" and "Donghai Crystal Production and Education Integration Base" to cultivate full-time crystal craft talents with college degree. It has cooperated with the Design College of Jiangnan University with the implementation of the "Jiangsu Crystal Industry Culture and Tourism Product Art Innovation and Design High-end Talent Training Plan", through the participation of domestic first-class experts and scholars and the overall strength of Jiangsu crystal industry, we cultivate leading high-end art talents for the crystal industry in Jiangsu Province. At the same time, the county's Science and Education Park has launched the "celebrity project" and expanded the "master effect". By holding a series of activities, such as carving skills lecture hall, crystal carving masters forum, master apprentice exhibition and so on, the master has played a leading and promoting role in the design and development of high-end crystal products and the inheritance and development of carving skills. The county makes active contact with China Arts and Crafts Association and Jiangsu arts and Crafts Industry Association, hold the second China ？ Donghai Crystal Culture and Creative Design Competition from 2020 to 2021, promote the transformation and diversified development of Donghai crystal industry, improve crystal creative design and lead the design trend of crystal culture industry in line with the new era of beauty appreciation and lifestyle.

In addition, the county also adheres to the combination of master recruitment and local cultivation to improve crystal carving skills. It has successively introduced 7 national masters such as Cao Zhitao, Zhang Yucheng and Wu Jianmin, 4 young Chinese jade carving artists such as Chen Xuhui and Zhang Licheng, and 14 provincial arts and crafts masters and celebrities such as Chen Lingyong and Su Mingxian. Last year, the Science and Education Park of Donghai County successfully introduced jade carving masters Lin Zhiping and Su Zhihe. In the Second National Crystal Carving Competition in 2020, five persons in the park won the titles of "tri-leading celebrities" and "tri-leading experts" successively.
