The public service platform R & D building, accelerator, safety assessment center, drug inspection center and demonstration workshop of China Pharmaceutical Port Phase I have been put into use. The main construction of standard workshop and public facilities in Phase II high-end Chemical Pharmaceutical Industrial Park has been completed. The construction of central kitchen, talent apartment, living square and Sports Center in Phase III business service area has started. This is an epitome of our city's active promotion of coastal development. This year, focusing on the implementation of Jiangsu Coastal Area Development Plan (2021-2025), the city has established new ideas and expanded new thinking modes. The relevant person in charge of the Coastal Office of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission said that this year the city will establish and improve the coastal development policy system, coordinate the promotion of industrial development, urban layout and ecological construction, strive to be the leader of Jiangsu coastal development, and promote the "late development and first arrival" in the new era and contribute to a good start in the modernization drive.

Building a port industrial agglomeration belt. This year, the city will strengthen its advantageous and characteristic industries, strengthen its advantageous industrial clusters such as petrochemical, biomedicine and new materials, promote the completion and operation of major projects such as Sino-chem Ruiheng New Materials and Sierbang Propane, create a national advanced biomedical manufacturing industry cluster, and the second phase of the core area of "China Pharmaceutical Port" will be completed and put into operation. Adhere to invigorating the sea through science and technology, build Huaguo Mountain Medical Science Center with high quality, create provincial marine resources development and technological innovation center, and start the installation of high-efficiency and low-carbon gas turbine test-bed. One belt, one road and one supply chain base will be vigorously promoted. The airport logistics park and high speed rail logistics park will be launched. Accelerate agricultural modernization, build the provincial marine food quality supervision and inspection center, and create a national agricultural product quality and safety city.

Striving to build a coastal style town belt. As one of the important coastal cities in the province, Lianyungang has a vast coastal production and living hinterland, and it is an important base for building a unique coastal style. This year, our city will adhere to the integration of port, industry and city, make greater efforts to promote the "city’s moving eastward and embracing the sea", focus on building “a hundred-mile blue bay”, do a good job in the greening, beautification and landscape improvement of coastal avenue, and accelerate the shaping, protection and development of a number of coastal style construction projects. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission said that this year our city will build a number of large and medium-sized parks such as Garden Expo Park, and become a national forest city and a Provincial Ecological Garden City. We’ll expand high-quality marine education resources and support Jiangsu Ocean University to speed up the construction of marine related disciplines such as fisheries and marine science. We will encourage the creation of marine theme literary and artistic works that embody the characteristics of mountain and sea culture, the culture of Journey to the West, Huaiyan culture, land bridge culture and so on. We’ll also open the Municipal Science and Technology Museum and apply for national famous historical and cultural cities and national cultural and ecological protection zones.

Carefully dressing up the beautiful ecological scenery belt. Lianyungang has a unique rocky coastline in Jiangsu. It is the city with the most abundant biodiversity in Jiangsu. It is an excellent place to create a beautiful artistic conception of "blue bay with hundreds of miles of flowers". This year, our city will accelerate the construction of national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration cities and national global tourism demonstration areas and upgrade Liandao to 5A level. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau said that with the goal of creating a national ecological civilization demonstration city, our city will start the implementation of carbon peak action, promote the transformation from "double control" of energy consumption to "double control" of total carbon emission and intensity, fight the defense war of blue sky, clear water and pure land with high standards, and promote the in-depth treatment of key industries, PM2.5 concentration, continuously improve the air quality, deepen the "three water co-governance" of water resources, water environment and water ecology, promote the national and provincial examination sections to meet the standards, implement the whole life cycle supervision of hazardous wastes, and speed up the construction of "waste-free city".

In addition, our city will also accelerate the construction of a two-way opening demonstration belt. We’ll actively strive for the New Asia Europe land sea intermodal transport channel to become a national strategy and run the Sino-EU train cooperation forum with high quality. We’ll deepen the strategic cooperation between ports and dry ports along Longhai and promote inland provinces to jointly build and share the most convenient access to the sea in the central and western regions with our city. We’ll also deepen cooperation with Shanghai Port in the fields of smart port and shipping, container routes and modern logistics and strengthen the eastward sea passage. The construction of the port project was started, and the port throughput was 300 million tons and the container traffic volume was 5.4 million TEUs. At the same time, we’ll speed up the construction of Liansu waterway. We’ll promote the reconstruction and expansion of Lianhuai Expressway and the construction of Liansu Expressway. And we’ll start the preliminary work of Phase II construction of Huaguo Mountain Airport.
