“Lianyungang Standard” Became China Sea-Rail Intermodal Transport Trade Standard

Recently, the Ministry of Transport has released three transportation trade standards, namely, “Train operation and cargo tracking interface of sea-rail intermodal transport”, “Train weight list message of sea-rail intermodal transport” and “Train demand report message of sea-rail intermodal transport”. These are the first batch of informationized trade standards for sea-rail intermodal transport in China, which are formulated and revised by the Lianyungang Port. With the formal promulgation of the standard, Lianyungang sea-rail intermodal transport brand has expanded its influence in the world. The new Eurasian land and sea transport corridor has been built as a benchmark of “Belt and Road”Initiative with more powerful technical support.

In 2016, the "National Container Sea-Rail Intermodal IOT Application (Lianyungang) Demonstration Project" passed the first completion acceptance of six sea-rail intermodal demonstration lines approved by the Ministry of Transport. The construction of the demonstration project promotes the standardization research work of related data exchange and data interface. It is particularly important to study the standard and upgrade the standard to a higher level.

In September 2019, the Ministry of Transport published the notice of soliciting opinions on the standard on its website and collected nearly 100 suggestions. The project team revised the standard again and completed the draft for approval. At the end of that year, the Ministry of Transport held a review meeting on the three standards, and invited more than ten specialists and standard experts to review the nearly 50,000 words of the three standards word by word, and finally formed a draft for approval. Last year, the three standards were reviewed by the standard review group of the Ministry of Transport, the publishing house and the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Transport. Recently, they were officially announced by the Ministry of Transport.

After the promulgation of these three standards, Lianyungang's standard authority in the global shipping industry has been enhanced, which will effectively promote the development of China's multimodal transport and sea-rail transport, greatly reduce the cost of information construction of sea-rail transport, and lay a good foundation for cross regional and cross business cooperation of sea-rail transport. Taking this as a new starting point, the port's scientific research on industry standardization is still continuing, which is of great significance to promote the upgrading of Lianyungang's shipping service level and build an important international transportation hub in Asia and Europe.
