Yesterday, the "Kazakhstan Mainstream Media Thematic Interview Tour in China" organized jointly by the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan and the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration's Central and Eastern Europe and Central&South Asia Communications Center (People's Pictorial) came to Lianyungang. The delegation of Kazakhstan's mainstream media conducted in-depth research into the city's technological innovation, industrial development, cultural exchanges, and participation in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, visiting key enterprises and institutions in the city and engaging in discussions.
As the eastern starting point of the New Eurasian Land Bridge Economic Corridor, in recent years, Lianyungang has fully leveraged its unique geographical advantages to actively integrate into the "Belt and Road" Initiative. Key planning and construction projects include the Sino-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base and the SCO Logistics Park. Currently, the Sino-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base has established core business sectors such as container stuffing and stripping, railway transportation, bonded warehousing, and international multimodal transport, realizing intelligent scheduling, visual production, unmanned operations, and direct communication between ships, stations and vehicles. Lianyungang Port has formed a "one body with two wings" combination port, with Lianyun port area as the main body, Ganyu Port as the northern wing, and Xuwei and Guanhe Ports as the southern wings. The entrance channel is rated at 300,000 tons, boasting 88 berths of over 10,000 tons and a design capacity of 244 million tons. Lianyungang's position as the most convenient seaport access to Central Asia and a highland for bidirectional opening-up between the East and West continues to be consolidated.
The foreign media delegation of the "Kazakhstan Mainstream Media Thematic Interview Tour in China" visited various sites, including the Sino-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base, the eastern starting point of the New Eurasian Land Bridge, the SCO Logistics Park, the Lianyungang Sinotrans Logistics Container Depot, the "Belt and Road" Supply Chain Base, the Huaguo Mountain Cultural Tourism Project, and the Yanhe Alley Commercial Street, gaining a detailed understanding of the operational status of the Sino-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base and the development of the SCO Logistics Park.
This event has served as an important bridge for strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Lianyungang and Kazakhstan. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both parties, cooperation between Lianyungang and Kazakhstan in economic, cultural, and other fields will continue to deepen, contributing further to the construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative.
