In　his　speech,　Hewei　congratulated　theGeneral　Assembly　on　behalf　of　the　Central　Committee　of　CPWDP　and　extended　hisregards　to　the　experts　and　scholars　in　the　medical　circle.　After　fullyaffirming　that　Lianyungang　attaches　great　importance　to　the　innovative　work　ofmedical　science　and　technology　and　the　strong　innovative　strength　ofpharmaceutical　enterprises,　he　pointed　out　that　the　19th　National　Congress　ofthe　CPC　has　put　forward　new　requirements　for　implementing　the　strategy　ofhealthy　China　and　promoting　innovative　development,　and　the　biomedical　industryis　in　a　good　stage　of　accelerating　its　development.　It　is　hoped　that　allparties　will　work　together　to　further　build　the　conference　into　a　brand　thatpromotes　information　sharing,　cooperation　and　exchange,　and　better　reflects　theinternational　level.　It　will　play　an　important　supporting　role　as　a　platformfor　scientific　and　technological　innovation,　talent-gathering　and　achievementstransformation,　and　better　promote　the　innovation　and　development　of　biomedicalindustry　in　Lianyungang.　It　is　hoped　that　Lianyungang　will　bear　in　mind　GeneralSecretary　Xi　Jinping's　earnest　advice　of　"pursing　catching-up　and　leapfrogdevelopment",　give　full　play　to　its　strategic　location　and　advantages　inport　and　industry,　play　a　more　important　role　in　the　overall　situation　ofnational　reform　and　development,　and　make　greater　contributions　to　thepromotion　of　high-quality　development　in　the　new　era.

In　her　speech,　Wu　Haiying　congratulatedthe　General　Assembly　on　behalf　of　the　China　Association　for　Science　and　Technology.She　pointed　out　that　in　recent　years,　Lianyungang　has　vigorously　developed　thepharmaceutical　industry,　attached　great　importance　to　pharmaceutical　researchand　development　innovation,　and　become　a　national　innovative　drug　pioneer　areaand　a　well-known　"drug　port".　It　is　hoped　that　Lianyungang　will　takethis　conference　as　an　opportunity　to　build　a　good　platform　for　the　conference,actively　integrate　resources　from　all　sides,　introduce　a　number　of　high-qualitytalents　and　cutting-edge　technologies　for　local　development,　promote　thetransformation　and　landing　of　innovative　achievements　in　medicine,　form　a　goodindustrial　ecology　with　a　big　platform,　a　big　team,　a　big　project　and　a　greatachievement,　and　contribute　to　the　rise　of　local　pharmaceutical　industry.Organizations　of　science　and　technology　associations　at　all　levels　should　givefull　play　to　the　advantages　of　resource　agglomeration,　take　the　initiative　tobuild　platforms,　integrate　into　the　overall　situation　of　development,　and　makemore　contributions　to　local　industrial　and　economic　and　social　development.　Itis　hoped　that　medical　and　technological　personnel　at　home　and　abroad　will　relyon　the　platform　of　the　conference　to　deepen　cooperation　with　localpharmaceutical　industry　and　play　a　greater　role　in　promoting　the　development　ofthe　pharmaceutical　industry.

Zhou　Jianmin　pointed　out　that　in　recentyears,　the　Jiangsu　Provincial　Party　Committee　and　the　Provincial　Governmenthave　given　priority　to　the　development　of　bio-pharmaceutical　industry　as　astrategic　emerging　industry,　strengthened　policy　support,　accelerated　the　paceof　scientific　and　technological　innovation,　and　strived　to　promote　thedevelopment　of　bio-pharmaceutical　industry.　Lianyungang　is　an　important　nodecity　of　the　"Belt　and　Road".　It　is　one　of　the　five　largest　medicalplates　in　Jiangsu.　It　is　hoped　that　the　participants　will　make　full　use　of　theplatform　set　up　by　the　conference　to　strengthen　international　exchanges　andcooperation　in　the　field　of　medicine,　bring　together　scientific　andtechnological　innovation　in　medicine,　and　focus　on　upgrading　the　healthindustry.　It　is　hoped　that　Lianyungang　will　further　innovate　the　concept　ofdevelopment,　promote　exchanges　and　cooperation　at　home　and　abroad,　attract　moreoutstanding　projects　and　talents,　speed　up　the　construction　of　internationallyinfluential　pharmaceutical　innovation　centers,　and　strive　to　create　a　betterfuture　for　the　development　of　the　pharmaceutical　industry.　We　warmly　welcome　high-levelmedical　innovative　talents,　engineering　and　technical　personnel　and　teams　fromhome　and　abroad　to　Jiangsu　Province　for　innovation,　entrepreneurship,　cooperativeresearch　and　work.

In　his　speech,　Alastair　Stewart　said　thatLianyungang　is　one　of　the　most　powerful　and　innovative　cities　in　terms　of　drugresearch　and　development　strength　in　China.　Hengrui　Medicine,　Chiatai　TianqingCo.,　Ltd.,　Kanion　Pharmaceutical　Co.,　Ltd.　and　Hansoh　Pharmaceutical　Co.,　Ltd.have　set　up　many　R&D　centers　overseas,　established　a　benign　overseas　marketsystem　of　producing,　selling　and　researching　and　enjoyed　a　high　reputation　inthe　world.　Last　year,　medical　experts　at　home　and　abroad　developed　a　deepfriendship　with　Lianyungang.　We　are　willing　to　give　full　play　to　the　advantagesof　resources,　technology,　funds　and　personnel,　and　further　develop　in-depthcooperation　with　the　government　departments,　medical　and　health　institutions,pharmaceutical　enterprises　in　Lianyungang　to　seek　a　major　strategy　for　thedevelopment　of　the　pharmaceutical　industry.　It　is　believed　that　through　thisconference,　the　technical　exchanges　between　all　parties　will　be　furtherdeepened　and　fruitful　cooperation　will　surely　be　produced.
