Recently, the journalist learned from the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology that in 2022, the city had received a total of 210 million yuan of provincial science and technology funds, an increase of 139% year-on-year, 1.24 times the sum of the previous two years. The rapid growth of provincial science and technology funds in our city is closely related to the growth of the number of high-tech enterprises in our city. Zheng Gang, deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, said, "Today, centering on the key industrial chain of the manufacturing industry, identifying the weak links of key core technologies and parts, focusing on high-quality resources to jointly tackle key problems and ensuring the independent, controllable, safe and reliable industrial system are becoming the direction of efforts of the city's high value enterprises."

High-tech traction and accelerated growth of new driving forces have further stimulated the city's economic development potential. Recently, the journalist visited Xuwei Port area. In the cold wind, the oil and gas loading and unloading arms were arranged in turn, waiting for the heavy-loaded ships to dock. Most of these oil and gas loading arms are from local enterprises. Last year, Sino-Ocean Fluid and other local enterprises set more than ten records in the fluid industry, and the number of Lianyungang patents in "China Big Arms" is far ahead. Last year, the city's high-tech enterprises, guided by the national strategic needs, gathered forces to carry out innovative and leading scientific and technological breakthroughs and resolutely won the battle for key core technologies. During this period, a number of enterprises increased innovation investment continuously and a number of small and refined enterprises stood out. Zhang Jian, director of the High-tech Division of the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, said that last year, the number of high-tech enterprises declared in our city reached 409, with a year-on-year increase of 10%, ranking first in the province. Among the identified enterprises, there are not only 716 Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., Guoneng United Power Technology (Lianyungang) Co., Ltd. and other large leading enterprises, but also the "small and refined" technology enterprises such as Jiangsu Jiaokong Smart City Technology Co., Ltd. and Lianyungang Zhenghang Electric Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd.

The key to accelerating the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance is to adhere to the "four orientations". Recently, Chengdu Shengdi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hengrui Pharmaceutical, received the “Notice of Acceptance” issued by the State Drug Administration. The application for drug marketing license of SHR8058 (perfluorohexane) eye drops submitted by the enterprise was accepted by the State Drug Administration for the treatment of tarsal gland dysfunction related dry eye disease. In response to people’s needs, Hengrui insists on implementing the four aspects of scientific and technological innovation: "facing the world's scientific and technological frontier, facing the main economic battlefield, facing the major needs of the country and facing people's life and health". Zhou Mengling, director of the Science and Technology Achievements and Regional Innovation Division of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, said that high-tech enterprises were the main undertakers of national and provincial science and technology projects. Last year, our city received more than 200 million yuan of provincial support funds, far ahead of the sum of two years. This shows that the direction of scientific and technological innovation of enterprises is more in line with national needs and more targeted.

Keep ahead, be precise and powerful and win the initiative in persistence. Recently, an innovative enterprise in our city encountered financial difficulties. As a biomedical enterprise, its products are mainly used in laboratories of colleges and universities. The Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology immediately sent a service team to the enterprise to help it overcome its difficulties by introducing relevant national, provincial and municipal science and technology policies to help it solve its development problems. What’s more, the Municipal Science and Technology Department also helps enterprises find "partners" in science and technology. According to the data, in 2022, our city released 6675 scientific and technological achievements of 18 colleges and universities and organized 265 industry-university-research activities; 609 new results of production, learning and research cooperation were added. One hundred and thirty-seven provincial vice presidents of science and technology were approved, with a year-on-year increase of 65% and 85% respectively; there are 1386 university-enterprise cooperation alliances. Fifteen joint enterprise innovation centers have been set up in cooperation with the Provincial Institute of Industry and Research. "Jiulian cooperation" is deepened through widely connecting the innovative resources of Jiusan Society. A national demonstration zone of Jiusan Society and local cooperation will be created.
