On the morning of January 22, the fifth session of the 14th Municipal People's Congress came to a successful close. The delegates expressed that they would deeply grasp the spirit of the Congress and earnestly implement it in the future work.

This year is the year to implement the “Belt and Road” Initiative for the 14th Five-Year plan and to open up a new road to modernization. From improving economic quality and efficiency to making the best of the "Belt and Road" strong support point, from the depth of creating beautiful and livable Lianyungang to accelerating the modernization of agriculture and countryside, the delegates will implement the new plan and jointly build a new city of "power, prosperity and picturesqueness".

The conference further defined the objectives and tasks of this year and major measures for development in the next five years. The delegates said that they should cherish the trust of the Party and the people, fulfill their duties as representatives according to law, unite and mobilize the cadres and the masses, turn expectations into actions, and create future with hard work.
