In the past two years, due to the impact of the epidemic, the railway freight in our city has fluctuated to some extent, but the overall performance is still good and continues to maintain the leading advantage in the whole province and even the whole country. According to the statistics of Xuzhou train depot of Shanghai Railway Bureau, the total railway freight volume of Lianyungang completed 30.32 million tons in the first half of the year, and has stepped up the level of 26 million tons for two consecutive years since the same period of last year. Among them, the railway freight delivery volume reached 23.72 million tons, and the railway freight arrival volume reached 6.6 million tons, which was the best level in the same period in recent ten years.
In recent years, our city has focused on accelerating the adjustment of freight structure and building a modern circulation system, optimizing and stabilizing the industrial chain supply chain and improving the railway freight network composed of freight channels, railway special and branch lines, freight hubs, logistics stations, etc. We promote the connection of existing freight railways into a network, implement the freight expansion and transformation of trunk railways and basically form a railway freight system. Especially since the outbreak of the epidemic, the railway department of our city has made great efforts to overcome the adverse factors such as weak total demand for social logistics and unstable supply of goods, actively adapt to the requirements of transportation structure adjustment and “road transit to rail", make full use of the freight capacity released by the high-speed rail network and deeply carry out the special action to tackle the difficulties of freight increment... All these multipronged measures have opened a vivid situation. Since the beginning of this year, the railway department has strengthened freight organization, improved transportation efficiency and service quality, not only actively undertaken the supply of "road transit to railway", reasonably allocated resources and matched the demand of supply, but also gave full play to the role of China-EU train strategic channel, continued to implement the port capacity expansion and efficiency improvement project, and worked closely with foreign railway departments to ensure the stability and smoothness of the international supply chain.
We have deepened reform to let enterprise shippers receive "sincerity". The railway department has continuously strengthened its market awareness and service concept, changed from "sitting and waiting" to "taking the initiative", transformed the inconvenient tracking of logistics information into "real goods system", and transformed the running of freight handling into "one-stop" and "door-to-door". The change of railway has adapted to the changes of market and social needs, realized the seamless connection of "the last kilometer" of cargo transportation, and made the majority of enterprises fully enjoy the convenience of "express door-to-door" of railway.
Railway freight has won market recognition. From the comparison of the whole province and even the whole country, the total railway freight volume advantage of our city becomes more obvious. In the first half of the year, the total railway freight volume of the city accounted for 35% of the total railway freight volume of Jiangsu Province. Among them, the proportion of railway freight transportation is higher, and the railway freight transportation volume of the city accounts for more than 60% of the railway freight transportation volume of the whole province. In particular, in the first half of the year, the railway freight volume of Lianyungang accounted for about 1% of the national railway freight volume. The national impact is quite obvious. To a certain extent, it has become one of the important indicators of "high-quality development" of Lianyungang.
