Our economic and trade delegation went to South Korea to promote exchanges and cooperation

From July 22 to 25, the Acting Mayor FangWei led the city's economic and trade delegation to South Korea to visit SKCSOLMICS, Daesang Corporation, Heung-A Shipping Co., Ltd., Korean Association ofSmall and Medium-sized Enterprises Operators, Habalan Beauty Instruments Co.,Ltd., Seoul Business Incubator, Korea-China Goodwill Association and sistercity Kwangyang. The trip has pushed the economic and trade cooperation forwardand promoted friendly exchanges.

Fang Wei introduced the development andinvestment environment of our city in detail during his visit to Seoul BusinessIncubator and meeting with Wu Junlu, the president of SKC SOLMICS, Lin Zhengbo,the president of Daesang Corporation, Li Runzai, the president of Heung-A ShippingCo., Ltd., Lee Shiki, the President of Korea-China Goodwill Association andother Korean entrepreneurs.

Fang Wei said that Lianyungang and SouthKorea facing each other across the sea, have a long history of mutual exchangesand cooperation. In recent years, with the in-depth implementation of the"Belt and Road Initiative ", Jiangsu has become the intersectionpoint of China's "Belt and Road". At the same time, Lianyungang hasbeen identified as an important strategic pivot by Jiangsu, and has receivedhigh attention from all sides. Lianyungang has seized major developmentopportunities. Port, railway, airport and other major infrastructures havebecome increasinglyimproved. Port-centered petrochemical industry, newmedicine, new materials, logistics, tourism and other industries have accelerateddevelopment to provide a broad space for promoting industrial cooperation, whichhas become a new hot spot for investment of China's coastal areas. Lianyungangwill further optimize the investment environment, build a platform forcooperation, and create favorable conditions for South Korean entrepreneursfrom all walks of life to develop business in Lianyungang. SKC SOLMICS, DaesangCorporation and other South Korean enterprises said they would actively promotethe project cooperation with Lianyungang City. Heung-A Shipping Co., Ltd. andother South Korean enterprises that have invested in Lianyungang said theywould further expand investment. Seoul Business Incubator and Korea Associationof Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Operators will start to study thepotential projects with Lianyungang. Many Korean entrepreneurs believe that Lianyunganghas great potential for investment and development. With the furtherdevelopment of the "Belt and Road Initiative", Lianyungang's positionin the international economic and trade cooperation will be further enhanced.It is an important node for Korean enterprises to open up the Chinese marketand lead to Western Asia and Europe. They are willing to carry out furthercooperation in the field of food, new materials, new medicine, shipping,logistics and etc. 

During their stay inSouth Korea, the delegation also visited Kwangyang the sister city ofLianyungang, investigated Kwangyang Iron and Steel-making ResearchGroup, Kwangyang Port and the cultural construction of Kwangyang Community.Fang Wei and Zheng Hyun-fu, the mayor of Kwangyang recalled the historicalorigins of the friendly exchanges between Lianyungang and South Korea heartily,reviewed the profound friendship that had been forged since the establishmentof sister cities, and jointly signed the economic exchange agreement betweenthe two cities concerning agriculture and tourist resource development,promoting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two cities to ahigher level.
