Lianyungang Municipal Development Zone and High-tech Zone Rank among Top 100 Biomedical Industrial Parks in 2022

Recently, CCID Consulting released the "Top 100 List of 2022 Biomedical Industrial Parks", with the Municipal Development Zone and Lianyungang High-tech Zone ranking sixth and 14th respectively in China. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau said, "This is an affirmation of the pharmaceutical industry of our city, and it has injected firm confidence into the pharmaceutical industry of Lianyungang city in the transition period."

It is known that 168 national high-tech zones and 230 national economic development zones in 2021 were taken as the research objects in this list, and a comprehensive evaluation was carried out from six dimensions and 20 indicators of "R&D innovation, leading driving, spatial intensification, digital projects, life index, and social concern", finally forming a top 100 list. Jiangsu has the largest number of Top 100 Parks, totaling 16, including 2 in our city.

The new pharmaceutical industry is one of the leading industries with the most distinctive features, vitality and competitiveness in the Municipal Development Zone. In recent years, in accordance with the requirements of "building primary industry and being the first in the province", with the goal of 100 billion level parks and the core area of "China Pharmaceutical Port" as the main position, the Municipal Development Zone has made every effort to build a platform, optimize the ecology, strengthen investment attraction and speed up construction, comprehensively promote the transformation and upgrading of the new pharmaceutical industry and continuously expand the influence of the new pharmaceutical industry. Recently, the State Drug Administration officially approved the marketing application of Hengrui Linperlisib, which is used to treat adult patients with relapsed or refractory (R/R) follicular lymphoma (FL) who have received at least two kinds of systematic treatment in the past. This is another new drug approved by Hengrui this year. Driven by the internationalization strategy and scientific and technological innovation strategy, the new pharmaceutical industry in the Municipal Development Zone has become the industry sector with the most concentrated regional innovative talents, the strongest innovation ability and the most remarkable innovation achievements. Wan Jun, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Municipal Development Zone, introduced that after years of development, the Municipal Development Zone has successfully cultivated a number of leading enterprises in the industry, such as Hengrui Pharmaceutical, Hansoh Pharma, Kanion Pharmaceutical and Chiatai Tianqing. They have formed many star industries, such as anti-tumor, psychiatric, antibiotics, cardio cerebrovascular, diabetes, etc. and made remarkable achievements in many fields, such as the secondary development of major Chinese patent medicine varieties, chemical drug imitation and innovative drug research and development.

Different from the industrial development mode of cluster in the Municipal Development Zone, Lianyungang High-tech Zone has attracted a number of characteristic pharmaceutical enterprises to gather because of its national high-tech zone platform. A group of small and micro technology enterprises such as Yugong Biolabs accelerated to gather in the incubator of Lianyungang High-tech Zone and gradually formed the unique competitive advantage of Lianyungang High-tech Zone. At present, the life and health industry represented by Chiatai Tianqing and force magnetic medical treatment in Haizhou Industrial Park has begun to take shape. In addition, a new medical device industrial park is being built in the Haizhou Industrial Park, covering a total area of about 100 mu. After completion, it will be mainly used to introduce the second and third class medical device industry enterprises and form a high-end medical device industry cluster base.
