“Hefei North—Lianyungang” Sea-Rail Intermodal Corridor Enters New Development Phase

Recently, with the arrival of the first batch of ONE (Ocean Network Express) container block trains at Lianyungang Port, the “Hefei North—Lianyungang” sea-rail intermodal corridor officially embarked on a new chapter of collaboration with leading international shipping enterprises. These containers will be directly loaded onto vessels at Lianyungang Port for overseas shipment, marking the efficient integration of the entire logistics chain spanning Anhui and Jiangsu provinces through “rail-port-shipping” connectivity.
Since the launch of the “Hefei North—Lianyungang” sea-rail intermodal corridor in October 2023, Lianyungang Port has actively aligned with market demands in the Hefei region. Through specialized operations by its subsidiary Kaida Container Logistics, the port has continuously expanded cargo sources from inland hinterlands. After nearly two years of meticulous market cultivation, Lianyungang Port has successfully broken through traditional logistics patterns in Hefei, forging a new development pathway in the local logistics market. Today, Lianyungang Port is steadily establishing itself as a competitive new logistics corridor in Hefei, injecting strong momentum into the optimization and upgrading of regional logistics systems.
As the eastern starting point of the New Eurasian Land Bridge, Lianyungang Port aims to consolidate existing operational achievements, enhance the quality and efficiency of block train services, and leverage its geographical advantage as a convenient gateway to the sea for inland provinces. The port will strengthen strategic cooperation with shipping companies and railway authorities to expand eastbound opening-up opportunities along the land bridge, further densify its inland sea-rail intermodal network, and contribute to the “dual circulation” development paradigm.
