"Start unloading now!" At 10:15 a.m. on March 14th, the canned LNG (liquefied natural gas) imported from Canada by Lianyungang Traffic Control Logistics Group, successfully arrived and unloaded at Haitong Gas Station in the urban area after a journey of more than 40 days across the sea. This is the first time that a domestic enterprise has imported LNG resources in the form of tank containers since Lianyungang Traffic Control Logistics Group took the lead in obtaining the Canadian federal energy import qualification license in the country at the end of last year. The "one tank to the end" transportation mode has opened up the LNG tank and container multimodal transportation industry chain, making new progress in exploring LNG trade forms, which has exemplary significance in the industry.

As a clean energy, LNG’s utilization field has gradually been expanded to urban gas, industrial fuel, power generation and other aspects in recent years. Stable gas supply has become one of the important factors related to the national economy and people's livelihood. Since 2016, Lianyungang Traffic Control Logistics Group has been exploring deeply in the fields of LNG empowered transportation, industrial energy and cold energy utilization. Over the past seven years, it has gradually built a "one tank to the end" supply chain logistics model with LNG tank containers as the main body and "purchase, transportation, storage, sales and manufacturing" as the chain. Focusing on the "dual carbon" goal, the Group aims to provide "affordable" and "cleaner" energy to the entire society, construct an energy chain where overseas LNG gas sources directly reach domestic end customers and strive to achieve both economic and social benefits.

It is reported that the tanks for carrying overseas LNG this time are produced and manufactured by Lianyungang COSCO Shipping Special Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The empty tanks depart from Qingdao Port and sail to Canada. After completing the procurement of LNG overseas gas sources in Vancouver, they were sent back by sea in original containers. After being transferred to Shanghai Yangshan Port through Yokohama Port in Japan, they were directly delivered to our city with "one tank to the end" by container trucks, with a total delivery amount of about 18 tons.

In order to ensure the success of the first voyage of LNG tank containers, Lianyungang Traffic Control Logistics Group has given full play to the operational advantages of supply chain logistics, strictly controlled all aspects from source selection, price formulation to contract details negotiation, and then completed the signing, shipping, customs declaration, inspection and release work in the shortest possible time.

"In the current situation where the natural gas peak shaving storage system is not yet perfect, LNG tanks provide a useful attempt and necessary supplement for natural gas import and peak shaving storage." Mr. Zhang, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Lianyungang Traffic Control Logistics Group, said that the group would accelerate the construction of LNG storage and distribution station projects and complete the construction of 20000 cubic meters of storage tanks and related auxiliary facilities in the next step. On the basis of this inaugural voyage to Canada, we will further expand the liner transportation volume and promote the round-trip and full ship transportation of 600 to 800 LNG tank containers as soon as possible, creating an integrated industrial chain of LNG trade, transportation and storage in Lianyungang, providing flexible and timely peak shaving and emergency gas sources for Lianyungang and surrounding cities, continuing to serve the national energy strategy and improving the local capacity for emergency peak shaving and supply assurance of natural gas. Zhang Guoxing indicated that they would also test the Russian market, providing strong support for Lianyungang and even Jiangsu to lead the country in the field of LNG import.
