From: Lianyungang Updated: 2019-11-22 11:10

Recently, another train full of ferrochrome from Kazakhstan has entered Lianyungang Sino-Kazakhstan logistics base. This is the 11000th TEU of ferrochromium alloy in transit from Kazakhstan to Lianyungang in 2019, representing the best level in the same period of history. "We are quite satisfied with the services provided by Lianyungang. We hope that under the guidance of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, the port will give us more concessional terms and better services in the future. Dunnis Alchukov, chairman of the board of directors of Eurasian Resources Group (Yunkang Co., Ltd.), said happily yesterday when investigating Lianyungang Port.

It is reported that Yunkang Co., Ltd. belongs to Eurasian Resources Group of Kazakhstan, one of the largest mining and metallurgical groups in the world. Yunkang’s annual traffic volume exceeds 58 million tons, accounting for 20% of the total traffic volume of Kazakhstan's railway network. As early as 2009, Yunkang Co., Ltd. and Lianyungang began to transit ferrochrome through Lianyungang, with a total volume of more than 3.5 million tons. Under the market environment of changing global economy and product price fluctuation, in the past three years, the transit business of ferrochromium alloy which is the largest commodity of Lianyungang Sino-European train, has been growing steadily, basically maintaining over 400000 tons per year.

Lianyungang Port has always been the most convenient port of export for Central Asia. In recent years, the land-sea intermodal transport channel from Horgos to Lianyungang has been further unblocked by means of building logistics hub nodes, opening Sino-Europe trains and increasing flight routes, providing more convenient and quality warehousing and logistics services for agricultural products and mineral resources in Central Asia, such as wheat, cotton yarn, potassium fertilizer, ferrochrome and etc. On June 28 this year, in order to ensure the standardized operation and high-quality service after the increase of the transit ferrochrome business in Lianyungang, and to enable more eastbound cargo sources to enjoy the latest policy "dividend" in the port block of Lianyungang Free Trade Zone, with the help of Lianyungang customs, the ferrochrome business in Central Asia entirely moved into the Sino-Kazakhstan logistics base of Lianyungang.
