The First Largest Bauxite Ship berthing at Lianyungang Port

On the morning of Mach 3rd, an elegant ship loaded with 200,000 tons of Guinean bauxite successfully docked at berth 81 of Lianyungang Port. This is the largest bauxite vessel berthed since Lianyungang Port opened, making a good start of the port service for customers in the central and western regions.

Over the years, relying on its unique location advantages, Lianyungang has seized the overlapped strategic opportunities and created the first national brand of alumina, with annual imports accounting for more than half of the country's share. Good service initiatives and outstanding performance have attracted many customers to choose bauxite import business from Lianyungang Port. On March 2nd, Luoyang Xiangjiang Wanji Aluminum Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with the port and successfully launched the first ship operation on March 3rd. Wang Jiang, president of the company, said they planned to import 3 million tons of bauxite from Lianyungang Port in 2019.
