Recently, in order to implement a series of policies and measures to promote the stability and quality of foreign trade and fully support enterprises to develop international markets, the Municipal Bureau of Commerce issued the 2023 Trade Promotion Plan (the first batch). This batch of trade promotion plans includes 56 overseas key exhibitions and 3 domestic key exhibitions, a total of 59. It focuses on supporting bio-medicine, textile and clothing, photovoltaic and new energy, composite materials and other industries, promoting the adjustment and optimization of the city's foreign trade structure and constantly expanding the scale of foreign trade.
"It's really exciting. The Frankfurt International All-Category Consumer Goods Exhibition, which we plan to attend, also appeared in the first batch of trade promotion plans in our city. According to the subsidy policy, this will save a large part of the expenses for our enterprises to participate in overseas exhibitions." The head of Lianyungang Suda Lighting Co., Ltd. said that the government's continued efforts in policy have strengthened the confidence of enterprises to accelerate the expansion of international market space.
In recent years, our city has actively seized the opening opportunities of the "the Belt and Road", the free trade pilot zone, RCEP and etc., taken multiple measures and comprehensively implemented policies in stabilizing foreign trade and foreign capital, etc., carried out a series of activities of "stabilizing foreign trade, solving problems and promoting development" around the concerns of enterprises, invited experts to deliver teach-ins in foreign trade stabilization policies such as RCEP, export credit protection and commercial legal services to more than 100 foreign trade enterprises in the city, hold discussions and exchanges with enterprises and help enterprises make good use of policies. High-quality services for the development of foreign trade enterprises were offered to help enterprises develop steadily and create a good business environment.
From January to November in 2022, the city's foreign trade import and export reached US $14.52 billion, up 12.8% year on year, higher than the national and provincial average, ranking sixth in the province. Affected by many adverse factors, such as the complex international environment, the weakening of foreign demand and the increase of costs, the city's foreign trade once again showed strong resilience and vitality, maintained a rapid development trend and continued to make positive contributions to the stability of the macroeconomic market.
It is reported that the Municipal Bureau of Commerce will continue to support enterprises to participate in groups, guide and promote enterprises to participate in key exhibitions, especially the ones of the "Belt and Road" and RCEP market. On the one hand, the power of policy is strengthened, and preferential policies for enterprises are introduced to support enterprises to participate in key exhibitions in Lianyungang in 2023. Subsidies of no more than 70% for booth fees and other expenses of key exhibitions will be granted. For both the provincial and municipal trade promotion plan exhibitions, after providing the provincial subsidies, we will implement subsidy policy based on the “Notice on Printing and Distributing Several Policies and Measures to Support Enterprises to Expand the Market (LSF [2022] No. 137)”. On the other hand, cooperation with domestic and foreign exhibition institutions is strengthened to strive for resources for enterprises to participate in international popular exhibitions. Relevant exhibition companies are urged to do a good job in the exhibition undertaking to achieve standardized operation, focus on services, charge reasonable fees and effectively improve the exhibition effect.
