Present Total Electricity Supply Capacity of Lianyungang

    Liangyungang owns a domestic first class thermal power plant--Jiangsu Xinhai Electric Power Co., Ltd with the total installed capacity of 522.5 MW. It owns two thermal generating sets with single-machine capacity of 220 MW.

Middle and Long Term Electricity Supply Capacity of Lianyungang

    Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant: two sets with the single-machine capacity of 1,060MW respectively at the first phase: the first set has generated electricity, the second set will generate electricity in 2006; Another two sets with the single-machine capacity of 1,060MW respectively at the second phase: the first set will generate electricity in 2007; the second set will generate electricity in 2008.

Present Total Electricity Supply Capacity of the Development Zone

     The development zone can supply ample electricity. Many types of output voltage are available such as 110KV, 35KV, 10KV. Etc.

Profile

     Over 40 main streams and branches pass through the city, including Xinyi River, Xinshu River, Rosebush River and Yan River, among which there are 17 rivers going directly to the sea. Yan River connects with Jinghang Grand Canal and Yangtze River. There are 168 reservoirs in the city, among which water demand of Shilianghe, Xiaotashan, Anfengshan reservoirs have large water-stored capacity. Shilianghe Reservoir ranks the first in water-stored capacity in Jiangsu Province, which can store water of 0.4 billion cubic meters. The total amount of water resources is 5.6 billion cubic meters and the utilization ratio reaches 40%. Every citizen can occupy water of 1,600 cubic meters.

     Lianyungang No. Three Water Plant with daily water supply of 200,000 tons has two DN600mm pipes to provide water for production & civil use to all the enterprises in the development zone; one DN500mm pipe to provide water for industry & civil use to all the enterprises in the high and new technological development zone.

Central Part, Export Processing Zone & Near-Port Industry Zone

1. Heat supply is centralized in the zone. At present, Haixing Thermoelectric Plant has two boilers with the installed capacity of 35 tons/hour;
2. It can provide saturated vapor with pressure under 35 bars; and provide 12.7 bar vapor and the temperature is usually controlled below 265degree

High and New Technological Industry Zone & Dapu Industry Zone

1. The installed capacity of No. 2 Thermoelectric Plant will be enlarged from the present 40 tons/hour to 110 tons/hour;
2. It is able to supply saturated vapor with pressure under 6 bars and vapor temperature is usually controlled below 170degree.
3. Another thermoelectric plant is under construction and will be built up in 2006. The total amount of investment is RMB 250 million. It can generate electricity of 170 million kw*h annually and provide 200,000 tons of heat.

1. Liquid natural gas: gas supply capacity is 240,000 m3 /day; heat value is 9000kcal/m3;
2. Supply of pipe natural gas at the end of 2005: DN300mm pipe will be mostly used.

    The total number of program-controlled telephones in Lianyungang has reached 1,400,000. Many services are easily provided, such as Domestic Direct Dial (DDD) telephone and International Direct Dial telephone (IDD), cable, fax, wireless communication and vision TV data transmission.

Sewage Treatment

    Drainage system of the development zone consists of rain system and polluted water system. The sewage from High and New Technological Industry Zone and Dapu Industry Zone is treated collectively in Dapu Sewage Treatment Plant whose treatment facility of 100,000t/d in the first stage has been put into use and the treatment facility of the second class was built up at the end of 2004. The sewage from the central zone and the export processing zone is treated collectively in Xugou Sewage Treatment Plant which has the first stage treatment capacity of 50,000t/d, the plan of the second stage facility has been initially completed, the project has been under construction and will be built up by 2006.

Execution Standard

     In 2003, the administrative committee of the development zone established ISO14001 environmental management system and obtained identification certificate, which meets international standard.
