Lianyungang Port Builds Solid Base for Green Energy Export Hub

Recently, operations at the production frontline of Xinwei Port in Lianyungang Port have been highly efficient and orderly. After the last batch of photovoltaic (PV) modules completed loading operations, it marked that the terminal had accomplished loading tasks for 17 ship calls of PV modules within a day and night, with a cumulative shipment of 43 large modules. Both the day-and-night shipment volume and the frequency of ship scheduling reached record highs for the terminal. This is the third production breakthrough achieved by Xinwei Port since the beginning of the new year. Following the record-breaking of the single-day PV module loading shift on January 4 and the new high in ship scheduling on January 7, Xinwei Port has demonstrated its strong leading strength in the field of PV logistics with a wave of powerful “triple breaks”.
As the demand for PV exports continues to rise, a large number of PV modules have arrived at Xinwei Port for loading. At the start of the new year, facing the dual challenges of concentrated ship arrivals and concentrated cargo operations, Xinwei Port made early deployments and scientific arrangements. It established an efficient linkage mechanism of “daily scheduling and hourly communication” and formed a special operation support team. Tailored “one-ship-one-plan” operation plans and dynamic adjustment contingency plans were developed for each batch of cargo based on key factors such as ship types, module models, weather, and tides, laying a solid institutional foundation for efficient operations.
The confidence to take the lead right from the start of the year stems from the solid development foundation accumulated in 2025. Data shows that Xinwei Port delivered impressive results in its PV module and component business last year. It achieved a cumulative throughput of 4.69 million cubic meters throughout the year, with the monthly throughput in December strongly surpassing 1.15 million cubic meters, setting a new monthly record. This has accumulated valuable experience and honed a professional team for high-frequency and large-volume PV logistics operations in the new year.
“This outstanding performance of setting records right from the start of the year not only once again verifies the professional strength of Xinwei Port’s production team in handling large cargoes such as PV modules but also reflects our continuous improvements in lean management, process optimization, and cross-departmental collaboration,” said Xu Liang, Manager of the Production Operation Center at Lianyungang Xinwei Port Terminal Co., Ltd. Currently, with the sustained growth of global demand for green energy and the rising export volume of PV products, Xinwei Port, with its mature operation system and efficient services, is becoming an important choice for the export of PV products.
From the breakthroughs achieved through the “triple breaks” at the start of the year to the precise implementation of an efficient full-chain operation system, Xinwei Port’s strong performance is a vivid microcosm of Lianyungang Port’s efforts to build itself into a hub for green energy exports. Standing at a new starting point, Xinwei Port will continue to consolidate the positive momentum of the “good start at the beginning of the year”, further strengthen the foundations of safety and quality, and advance subsequent production tasks with higher standards and more pragmatic work styles, striving to transform the initial advantages into a lasting driving force for the high-quality development of the port.
