Lianyungang has established 37 pairs of intermational sister cities and friendship exchange partnerships across 18 countries, including 11 officially twinned sister cities. In 2024, the city formed new friendship exchange partnerships with Wonju (South Korea), Guzar District and Namangan (Uzbekistan), and Murmansk (Russia) To mark the 30th anniversary of its sister-city relationships with Greater Geelong (Australia) and Napier (New Zealand), Lianyungang sent delegations to both cities and co-hosted a book exchange event commemorating the milestone. A trade and friendship delegation was also dispatched to Almeria (Spain). Furthermore, officials from Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya Region and Ministry of Tansport were invited to Lianyungang for inspection visits, culminating in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Uzbekistan Railways Freight Joint Stock Company and the $CO (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park Management Committee. Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya Region, Namangan Region, and Russia's Murmansk City, facilitating practical cooperation in areas including interational trade, medical building materials, and modern agriculture. lmnovative “Lianyungang Book Corners” were established in the Batumi Public Library (Gieorgia), the Zhambyl Library in Almaty (Kazakhstan)，and the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, creating new cultural windows to promote the image of sister cities and deepen people-to-people exchanges. Lianyungang launched the “International Friends in Port City” event series, which included programs such as “Experience Jiangsu · Understand China” for international visitors and “Experience Port City” for foreign residents, Nearly 200 foreign guests were invited to explore the city's unique mountain-and-sea culture, Capitalizing on the “China-Russia Year of Culture,”　 Lianyungang also organized cultural and artistic exchange activities titled “Joyful Joumey to the West: Encounter Port City” for over 100 Russian experts from the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, and held an online chess championship with Arkhangelsk, Russia.
